<\/a><\/a><\/a> <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Day 9<\/span> Today we had more kilometers to pass. We woke up in the morning, the weather was beautiful, at 7a.m. we had breakfast and thirty minutes later came back on the route.<\/span><\/p>\n It\u2019s Sunday, little traffic and the ride is very pleasant. However, the temperature is low. It shouldn\u2019t surprise us because we are in Siberia. Plants here are a bit different from those we had seen during the last days. Endless fields of grass and birch forests stretch along the road. There are millions of birches. I had never seen such forests. The land is flat and in some places swampy. In fact this is the whole landscape. In addition it\u2019s filled with birds. Some are predatory and circle above, let\u2019s call them buzzards, and some are rooks which sit along the road and fly away from cars at the last moment.<\/span><\/p>\n Traditionally we stopped for a dinner in a roadhouse. I ate shashlik (delicious) and Andrzej ordered two kinds of soups \u2013 one solyanka<\/em> and one lagman<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n The people we met were always nice and optimistic. We observe such behavior from the beginning and never met any sign of ill will. Of course we have a ready set of answers concerning our motorcycles: what\u2019s the maximum speed, how much they are, how much fuel they consume? But people ask about everything: where do you work, how much do you earn, do you have wife, children, house, how many cars do you have, have you ever been to America, why \u201csome\u201d Poles did \u201csomething\u201d this year? This is a madness but at the same time shows sincerity of these people and how curious they are about foreigners. At petrol stations we were repeatedly asked: \u201cWy prijechali iz Ameriki?<\/em>\u201d (Did you come here from America?) while nothing suggested it. These questions reveal their curiosity about the world and how they wish the real Americans came here. Unfortunately we are only Poles. And one more observation. Previously people who heard that we are going to Baikal were surprised, particularly because of the distance, but now they are not, say that it\u2019s great. We are in the land where such ride is not impressive.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" 651 km.
