Zero km, Buchara

Dziś jubileuszowy pięćdziesiąty dzień podróży. Spędzamy go w Bucharze. Odpoczywamy. Nasi znajomi Włosi rano pojechali do Chiwy. My jedziemy tam jutro rano. To około 500 km.

Korzystając z okazji rannego wstania, postanowiłem przejść się po starym mieście z godzinkę. Jeszcze nie było żadnych turystów, a wszystkie turystyczne sklepy i atrakcje jeszcze nie pracowały. Było rześko, świeciło już słońce. Przeszedłem starymi uliczkami. Dużo mieszkańców było już na nogach, małe sklepiki były otwarte. Posiedziałem w parku patrząc jak kilka kobiet wielkimi szczotkami zamiata chodniki. Jest też zwyczaj polewania wodą drogi czy chodnika przed domem lub sklepem. Szczególnie gdy jest on z ubitej ziemi. Często widziałem jak kobieta z wiaderkiem rozchlapuje wodę. Trochę mniej się kurzy, ale starcza to na kilkanaście minut.

Ogólnie miasto jest całkiem duże. My nie opuszczamy okolic starego miasta ale można poczuć jego rozległość podczas wjazdu. Ruch jest spory, dobrze rozwinięta jest sygnalizacja, jest dużo taxi. Ludzie są niesamowicie uprzejmi. Czego jak czego ale tej cechy nie można im odebrać.

Day 50
Zero km, Bukhara

Today we have a jubilee – the 50th day of our journey. We’re spending it in Bukhara and having a relax. Our friends from Italy went to Khiva in the morning. We will go there tomorrow. This is about 500km.

I decided to make use of my early waking up and walked around the old town for about one hour. No tourists had appeared yet and all touristic shops and attractions were closed. The air was fresh, the sun was shining. I walked along old streets. Many city dwellers were up, small shops were opened. I sat for a while in a park looking at some women sweeping the pavements. They have a custom of pouring some water on roads or pavements in front of houses or shops. Especially when it’s made of rammed earth. Many times I saw a woman who splashed water. The roads have less dust but this helps only for a few minutes.

Generally the city is quite big. We’re not leaving the surroundings of the old town but we could feel its size during the entry. The traffic is quite big, the system of traffic lights is well developed, the city has many taxis. People are incredibly kind. We can’t deny this characteristic.
