252 km, Almaty (KZ) – Biszkek (KGZ)

Rano pakowanie, śniadanie hotelowe, mocowanie bagażu i w drogę.

Ponieważ śniadanie było od godziny 8 to nie mogliśmy wyjechać wcześniej. Przez to staliśmy w gigantycznym korku na wylotówce na Biszkek. Motor mi się zagrzał (chłodzony powietrzem) i musiałem na pół godziny stanąć na poboczu. Potem już droga była bardzo fajna choć w upale.

Biszkek leży bardzo blisko granicy. Jeszcze w Kazachstanie GPS wskazywał 25 km do hotelu a granicy nie widać. Potem miasto jakieś i w nim granica. Nie wspominam jej najlepiej, chociaż niczym się nie różni od innych. Formularze, okienka, pytania, trochę prywatnych i trochę służbowych rozmów i po dwóch godzinach wjechaliśmy do Kirgistanu. Zaraz po granicy jest ustawiona policyjna pułapka. Znak stop na prostej drodze. Wpadliśmy w tę zasadzkę i kosztowało nas to po 10$ łapówki. Dwadzieścia minut później byliśmy już w hotelu. Tu znowu przepraszają ale mają tylko pokój z jednym dużym łóżkiem, trudno. W zamian za to będzie taniej.

Nowy kraj to zawsze nowe obowiązki czyli wymiana pieniędzy i kupno Internetu oraz kupno mapy drogowej. Po pierwsze kasa. Trzeba niestety daleko iść, aż na dworzec. Poszliśmy, wymieniliśmy i przy okazji poznaliśmy sympatycznego faceta, który zaproponował, że zawiezie nas do salonu telefonii komórkowej. I faktycznie. Trzeba było całkiem daleko jechać. W korkach postaliśmy, pogadaliśmy, trochę rad nam udzielił, trochę posłuchał o naszych podróżach a potem podrzucił nas do hotelu. Dzięki niemu zaoszczędziliśmy ze dwie godziny. Minus jest taki, że nie zrobiłem żadnych zdjęć. Teraz siedzimy w restauracji hotelowej i czekamy na szaszłyki baranie i popijamy piwko. Właściwie jest to restauracja i do tego kilka pokoi na górze. Wygląda to wszystko w porządku i ma dobre opinie w Internecie. Jutro rano wstajemy wcześnie i ruszamy dalej.

Day 39
252km, Alma-Ata (KZ) – Bishkek (KGZ)

In the morning we packed our stuff, ate a hotel breakfast, fastened the luggage and set off.

We couldn’t leave earlier because the breakfast hours started at 8a.m. For that reason we got stuck in a huge traffic jam in the exit road in the direction of Bishkek. My motorcycle overheated (it’s air-cooled) and I had to stop for half an hour on the shoulder. Then the road was really great but we rode in heat.

Bishkek is located near the border. When we had already been riding through Kazakhstan the GPS showed 25km to our hotel and we still couldn’t see the border. Then the road led us to a city and the border was there. My memories of this point aren’t good but it isn’t different from other border crossings. Forms, posts, questions, conversations – some private and some official. Finally, after two hours we entered Kirgizstan. A police trap stood just beyond the border. A stop sign on the straight road. We fell into the trap and it cost 10$ of bribe per person. Twenty minutes later we were in the hotel. The stuff apologized us because they had only one room with one big bed. Never mind. It will be cheaper though.

A new country means new obligations for us. We have to exchange money, buy the Internet and a small road map. First of all, the money. Unfortunately we must go as far as the railway station. We went, exchanged and met a kind guy by the way. He offered us a lift to a mobile telephony’s salon. He was right. It was a long road. We got stuck in traffic jams, talked, he gave us some advices, listened to our stories about the journey and then gave us a lift to the hotel. Thanks to this man we saved two hours. The only disadvantage was the fact that I didn’t make any photos. Now we’re sitting in the hotel restaurant, waiting for mutton shashliks and drinking beer. In fact this is a restaurant and some rooms upstairs. It seems okay and has good opinions in the Internet. Tomorrow in the morning we’re going to wake up early and ride further.
