Brzydki budyneczek i dwie jurty przed nim. I w tych jurtach podają do stołu. I tu jest ładnie. Zdjęliśmy buty i usiedliśmy na podłodze. Zjedliśmy baraninę z ziemniakami i odrobiną surowej cebuli. Jak zwykle pycha. Do tego kawa 3w1. Klasyka, bo tu innej nie robią.

Jeszcze dwie informacje.

Po pierwsze, Andrzej dziś obchodzi urodziny. Można przesyłać życzenia. Razem mamy 105 lat.

Jutro rano wstajemy jeszcze wcześniej, czyli o czwartej i zasuwamy do Almaty, gdzie zostaniemy dwa dni.

Day 36
608km, Semey – Usharal

We started to wake up at 5a.m. and set off after 6a.m. We have some hours of low temperature, even a chill. After 11a.m. the hell begins. Through the first 50 kilometers beyond Semey the road is very good but the next section is full of big holes. However, we ride fast, around 100 km/h. My right shock absorber leaks.

Around noon we stopped for a dinner in Ayagoz. A tiny, ugly building and two yurts in front of him. The yurts serve as dining rooms. On the contrary, they are nice. We took off our shoes and sit down on the floor. We ate a piece of mutton with potatoes and a little portion of raw onion. Delicious as usual. And a 3-in-1 coffee in addition. It’s a classic because people here prepare it only in this way.

Some more information.

Firstly, Andrzej has his birthday today. You can send him your wishes. We have 105 years in total.

Secondly, yesterday in the hotel I installed the Windows 10 on my notebook. I hesitated because I know that it’s not good to make such things during a journey but I like the upgrades so much that I gave in. It operates well in my computer.

The road became horrible, holes are everywhere. After Mongolia I promised myself that I won’t complain about roads for two years. So I’m citing Andrzej’s words. According to our plan we should still ride 60km but a fixing screw of the chain’s cover in Andrzej’s motorcycle fell off and we had to stop in Usharal by the Alakol lake. A mean hotel as usual. Without the Internet.

The road leads us through the steppe, hundreds of thousands or millions of square kilometers covered by fallows or a desert. Maybe Kazakhstan is a huge country but it doesn’t matter because it consists of empty spaces. The treasures are just below the ground but the surface is a complete desert. The emptiness as far as the eye can see. We’re riding in a very high temperature, at least 45 C in the sun. But I prefer this weather than the cold. I’m not complaining.
Tomorrow in the morning we will wake up even earlier, at 4a.m., and will go to Alma-Ata where we are going to spend two days.
